Youth Council 2002
What is the Youth Council?
We are a group of teens throughout the area who have come together to better our communities through service projects. We also aim to promote cross-cultural understanding, awareness, and acceptance through education and personal example. We come together in the Red Cross from various racial backgrounds and ethnic groups to help others and to make a difference in our communities. We join with the creativity, courage, and motivation necessary to let our voices be heard and to be an example for other young adults.
Why Should I Join the Youth Council?
The Youth Council is unique in that we, (its teen members) are its driving force. We form our goals, create our own projects, and implement our own plans. We address the community needs that are important to us (homelessness, hunger, AIDS, violence)We work hard to break down barriers between different racial and ethnic groups. The Red Cross helps educate us through trainings and we in turn educate other people. We truly are making a difference!
But we need your help!
